Creating your own bespoke display
You access the Net-Top-Box through a standard web browser from a PC desktop. The Net-Top-Box’s web server is compatible with the following browsers:
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Apple Safari
1. Upload Content

First you upload any media that you wish to use in your display.Media files can be loaded from your PC in two ways:
Through the Net-Top-Box’s in-built File Manager, or By regular FTP process, for example using Windows Explorer
(see Fig. 1)

2. Select a layout

A Layout defines the geometry for your output display. Each Layout is made up of a number of different Zones (rectangular areas of pixels) which can contain different types of Media, for example video, html, text etc. The Net-Top-Box comes with many Layouts or your ‘Media Manager’ can easily design your own Layouts. You can build any number of Layouts within the Net-Top-Box which can be easily put into a Schedule to show at different times. For example, a different one for each day of the week or for different times of day. (See Fig. 2).

3. Select the required zone

Having picked your layout, you then pick the Zone within the Layout that you want to customise with the click of a mouse (See Fig. 3).

4. Edit the zone’s playlist

Each Zone has a Playlist, which is a list of references to Media to be displayed. Items on the playlist can come from media stored on the Net-Top-Box or can come from external sources such as the Internet, for example newsfeeds or web pages, or even from a live TV input (subject to the media provider’s permission).

5. Activate the diary and layout.

The final step is to click the ‘Activate Schedule and Layouts’ button and you are done!
